This course is designed for childcare professionals who require a basic level of first aid/CPR training. It is specifically aimed to suit the needs of childcare workers and covers all basic pediatric first aid skills.

Participants learn about the types of medical emergencies that children face, and how they differ from adult conditions.

This course is designed for:

  • People involved in Child Care,
  • Parents (Mothers & Fathers).
  • Voluntary Workers where Children are involved.
  • People working in Child Play Zones.
  • People involved in Children’s Entertainment, Parties Etc.

Course Content:

  • Injuries, emergencies and illness that will be covered will include choking (child & infant)
  • Other respiratory problems,
  • CPR for Infants, and CPR/AED for Children,
  • Bleeding,
  • Burns,
  • Fractures,
  • Head Injuries
  • Environmental problems such as Heat Stroke, Hypothermia and Heat Exhaustion,
  • Diabetes,
  • Epilepsy
  • Asthma,
  • Poisoning,
  • Allergic Reaction, Bites & Stings Etc.

Training Methodology:
This course is classroom based, with practical exercises to reinforce understanding and learning.

What to bring to the course:
Participants should wear comfortable clothing for practical activities.

Duration of the course:
This is a one day course.

Up to 10 participants per course.

Participants will receive a Certification of Attendance at a one day Paediatric First Aid Course from Vickie Dunne Training.
